Sink or Swim

Top: Anthropologie, Pants: NY&C, Necklace: Anthropologie, Boots: Steve Madden

Yesterday was one of those "do or die" days. I knew what I had to do, what I had to decide and how to word myself to get the job accomplished. I know that makes no sense whatsoever, but know it had to be done.

I never realized how long this shirt is until today. It covers my entire butt. Maybe this summer I'll wear it as a dress, yeah? Oh. You don't think that's a good idea? You think little children well run and hide? Okay, well, I'll believe you this time I guess. Back to the outfit... I love this necklace. It's so fun. And I like these pants, but for some reason, I have a hard time styling black pants. Probably the reason they've only made it on to this challenge twice so far (the first being day 1). Anyway, this outfit is mildly successful. Not too exciting, not too, too bland. I'm losing creativity in these last days, so bear with me, please! I'm definitely excited to get the rest of my closet back!

Featuring the twin!

While we were in the backyard taking pictures for the blog, I decided to snap a few of my twin sister to feature here. Her name is Ellie. Our styles are very different, but she looks good! right?

Help!

Hey all, it's Ashley. I have some questions to ask you all and would GREATLY appreciate it if you would comment on your opinion/thoughts/answers.

1. Do you like more outfit posts, or would you like to see more fashion posts?
2. Is it helpful when I have posts where I merge together outfit pieces from different stores that I consider successful outfits?
3. I will be doing a lot of craft related things over the next few weeks while moving. Would you like to see craft related/DIY posts?
4. Would you like to see creativity in a form other than clothing? For example food/baking, home decor, design and different room themes? An example of themes are modern, traditional, rustic, etc.
5. If you DO want to see design related posts, would showing affordable pieces that can change a room be something you wanted to see?
6. If you DO want to see food/baking related posts, do you want recipes and pictures showing what I made?
6. Is there anything else you'd want me to do/not do on the blog?

I know it's a lot of questions, but answering them would really help me shape What Two Will Do. Thanks in advance!

An example of what type of baking things I would blog about (I made these a while back):

Trip up the coast

... just to Pasadena :) but it was fun. I wore this outfit out to Santa Monica to go shopping. It was just right for the weather, and I was able to add boots and a blazer in the evening before we went to dinner in Old Town Pasadena with the family.

Switching it Up

Top: Anthropologie, Cardigan: Gap, Skirt: Anthropologie, Belt: Old Navy,
Tights: Target, Boots: Steve Madden, Necklace: Gran's

As promised, I have two outfits for you today. One is my Sunday best and the other is my Sunday run around and do errands outfit. Actually, it's my Sunday stay at home, catch up on television shows and start to pack outfit. But, errands and those things are basically the same, right?

This first outfit just popped into my head this morning. Tomorrow I'm thinking I'll just close my eyes and randomly grab things. I like the peek-a-boo shirt sticking out underneath and I like the pop of color with the belt and tights. At church today, I was told about another girl there who has a fashion blog, and met the husband of a lady who runs an online clothing boutique The Unique Closet. I love meeting new people!

Moving on to outfit numero dos:

Top: Anthropologie, Cardigan: Gap, Jeans: GAP, Belt: J. Crew,
Boots: Steve Madden, Scarf: Gift from MIL, Sunglasses: Burberry

As you can see, I kept the same shirt and cardigan, but mixed up everything else. The cold weather called for jeans, and the scarf is just so comfy I wanted to wear it. I'm off to go stare at our closet until things pack themselves, but I want to leave you with my awkwardly awesome picture of the day. I was telling Matt to stop taking pictures when I wasn't ready for them. Thanks for capturing it, Matthew:

Cozying Up

When?: March 5, 2011
Where?: Running Errands
Sweater: GAP
Jeans: GAP
Boots: Steve Madden
Scarf: Sister Ariel

You guys! As of today, we have EVERYTHING we need for our apartment! Including a bed AND sheets! Hooray! Now we just have to work up on packing up what we have right now and sorting through it all. Fun stuff. Today, I bought some cute touches for the apartment. I can't show you because it'll ruin the surprise, but just know they're cute. Even if Matt's going to think they're pointless. That just means they are that much cuter. Right?

Day 22. Eek. I need to hurry this up. I'm going to begin wearing two outfits a day. Seriously. Like tomorrow. I'll have a church outfit, and a running around outfit. Just you watch. Today was super cold and windy. Hence the pictures on the porch and not many of them. Bailey took the pictures and she was cold, so we didn't snap too terribly many today. Such is life. I'll be back tomorrow with two more outfits, so don't you worry.

As a side note, my hair has been looking really good lately. I didn't even use a flat iron today! I think it's the combination of it getting longer, me not blow drying it often and my using different products due to the fact that I'm trying to downsize my bathroom whatnot before we move. Whatever it is, I'll take it!

Rounding the Corner

When?: March 3, 2011
Dress: Anthropologie
Scarf: GAP
Belt: J. Crew
Heels: Steve Madden
Earrings: Won at a bridal show

I m so sleepy right now. I was up at 5am for work and have to get up at 6 tomorrow, but I don't want to take a nap because then I won't be able to go to bed tonight. I need to get some other stuff done anyway though, like those piles of clothes that still refuse to fold themselves. So selfish of them. And that bowl of food sitting there. Can't it walk itself to the kitchen and hop into the dishwasher? Pure selfishness I tell you.

I'm not sure if this outfit works or not, I like it... but is it weird? I just don't know. I don't usually belt things OVER scarves, so maybe that's my issue. Whatevs. Day 21. Not too much further to go though I'm sure it will feel like forever. I might be doubling up on outfits from now on... a day to night look perhaps. I just need to get this DONE. Especially since next Friday night is the blogger swap in downtown Austin. I'm looking forward to that.

Apparently I'm walking a tightrope:

Bright Lights

When?: March 2, 2011
Where?: Errands
Top? Gran's closet
Shorts: Target
Shoes: Bailey's
Necklace: Gran's closet
Belt: Anthropologie
Earrings: Anthropologie
Watch: Fossil

And by lights I mean legs, because my legs are literally bright white. Eek! Yesterday Matt and I got a lot done. We went and got 32 cent brisket at Rudy's, bought crates (which I will show you what I do with after we move into our apartment), bought a microwave, decided on a television, returned some sheets, went to dinner, etc., etc.. It was nice.

I know that I'm wearing shorts in winter and that's not supposed to happen, but hey... I can't change the weather! This outfit was super comfy but got a little chilly in the evening. I like the necklace with the red shirt. I love red and pool blue together. The belt matched the shoes really well, so that was a plus. I'm having to become much more creative with my outfits. This is day 20... wish me luck with the last 9!

Navy and gold...

... go great together! I love the sailor-ish feel of navy and gold. Robert took these pictures on my droid, once again, but I have a camera coming in the mail! (the gold jewelry is a little hard to see) I think they turned out okay, though. This purse, I've been using constantly. I've enjoyed not having a huge, "Mary Poppins" purse where my keys and chapstick get lost in the deep corners. I think it goes well with the outfit, too. Professional, office attire is hard to change up... (part of the reason my outfit tab is lacking) but these skirts are great and go with any top because of their neutral color. I'm saying "these," because I got one in navy (seen here) and one in grey-both from Express.

Marching Right Along

When?: March 1, 2011
Top: GAP
Jeans: GAP
Boots: Zigi Soho
Belt: J. Crew
Necklace: Gran's Closet

Marching right along. Get it? It's March! My cleverness is so ridiculous I can't even stand it. Seriously though. I can't believe how fast this year is already flying by. Before I know it we'll be moving, Matt will be 26, I'll be in LA for Ashley's wedding and it'll be Matt's and my first anniversary. Following that it'll be my birthday, Thanksgiving and... okay. Maybe I'm getting slightly ahead of myself. I do think 2011 will be over before we know it though.

This outfit is pretty simple, but I've never worn this sweater with a belt and jeans before. I love the blue necklace with it, it's hard to tell in the pictures, but it's a lighter blue. I love the two colors together. By the way, Matt's been rocking on the pictures the past couple days. I think he's improving! I don't know if I am, but he is!
